What personal data we collect
We collect only the data we need to run your account, keep play fair and meet the duties that come with holding a gaming licence and verifying accounts. Some of it you give us directly, some is created as you use the site, and some comes from the partners that help us check identity and process payments.
Account and contact details
- Your name, date of birth, residential address, e-mail address and mobile number.
- Your username, your password in encrypted form and your account preferences.
- Your marketing choices, including whether you have opted in and which channels you agreed to.
Identity and verification documents
- Copies of photo identification, proof of address and, where needed, proof of the source of your funds.
- The outcome of the checks our verification partners carry out, including any mismatch they report.
- Safer gambling settings you apply, such as deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.
Transactions and play
- Deposits and withdrawals, the payment method used and the masked card or wallet details shown in the cashier.
- Bonus activity, wagering progress, and the games, stakes and session lengths recorded on your account.
Device and usage data
- IP address, the approximate location derived from it, device type, operating system and browser.
- Pages viewed, features used, login times and the cookie identifiers described in our Cookie Policy.
- Messages you send us by live chat or e-mail, and the notes our team adds when handling them.
Why we use your data, and the legal basis for each use
Every use of your data rests on a legal basis set out in the UK GDPR. In plain words, those bases are the contract between us when you accept our terms, our legal duties as a licensed operator, our legitimate interests, your consent, and the public interest in preventing crime and protecting people from gambling harm.
| What we use it for | Legal basis in plain words |
|---|---|
| Opening your account and letting you log in, play, deposit and withdraw | Performance of the contract you enter into when you accept our terms |
| Confirming that you are 18 or over and that you are who you say you are | Our legal duties, and the public interest in keeping under-18s out of gambling |
| Preventing fraud, bonus abuse and money laundering | Our legal duties, and our legitimate interest in protecting the site and other players |
| Watching for signs of harm and applying limits, time-outs or self-exclusion | Our safer gambling duties and the public interest in player protection |
| Answering your messages and handling complaints | Our contract with you, and our legal duties on complaint handling |
| Sending offers and news by e-mail, SMS or push message | Your consent, which you may withdraw at any time |
| Keeping the site secure, fixing faults and improving how pages work | Our legitimate interest in a stable, secure and usable site |
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without giving a reason and without losing access to your account. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we weigh what we want to do against the effect on you, and you can object as set out below.
Checks we cannot skip
Age and identity verification is a condition of our licence, not a choice. If you decline to supply documents, or ask us to erase data we need for these checks, we may have to suspend or close your account and return any balance to the method you deposited with.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as your account is open, and afterwards for the period that gambling, anti-money-laundering, tax and accounting law requires us to keep records. We do not hold it for longer than those duties need.
- Account, verification and transaction records: kept for the retention period the law sets for licensed operators once your account has closed.
- Safer gambling records, including limits, time-outs and self-exclusions: kept for at least as long as the exclusion runs, so that it cannot be undone by opening a new account.
- Marketing records: kept until you withdraw consent, after which we keep a short record of the withdrawal itself so that we do not contact you again.
- Live chat and e-mail correspondence: kept for a limited period for security, staff training and complaint handling.
When a retention period ends we delete the data, or anonymise it so that it can no longer be linked to you.
Your rights and how to use them
Under UK data protection law you hold the rights below. They are free to use and we respond within the time limit the law sets.
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you and for information on how we use it.
- Correction: have inaccurate or incomplete details put right, for example after a change of address.
- Erasure: ask us to delete data we no longer have a reason to keep. This does not cover records we are required to retain.
- Restriction: ask us to pause our use of your data while a query about it is being looked into.
- Objection: object to uses based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
- Portability: receive the data you gave us in a commonly used electronic format, or have it sent to another provider.
- Withdrawing consent: turn marketing off in your account settings or use the unsubscribe option in any message.
To use any of these rights, write to support@casino-greatslots.co.uk from the e-mail address registered on your account, or raise it with our team on live chat. So that we never disclose your data to someone else, we may ask you to confirm your identity before we act. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; we would ask you to come to us first so that we can try to put matters right.
Keeping your details current
Please tell us promptly if your name, address or payment details change. Accurate details keep withdrawals moving and help us complete verification without delay. Accounts are for players aged 18 and over only, and support is available from GambleAware, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline.
